Yasmina Beginning Sketch

I decided to actually do some normal sketches for these carvings. Usually I just do a simple outline right on the wood and then start carving while using the original picture as a visual reference, a little risky but fun. I figured that completely drawing out the portrait first wouldn't hurt for practice for this series. My real fear is that the references used for these portraits are people who actually live in SA and work at Ruta Maya, so if the portraits don't somewhat resemble the models I look like an ass. This one is of Yasmina.
